Wonders will never cease

Daniel and I almost fell off our chairs last night at the dinner table. We were happily eating our chicken and vegies and Andrew was having some chicken nuggets. When he had finished his nuggets he asked for some broccoli!!!!! He just came out with it – “Broccoli?” – Of course I said “Sure!” and tried to act all calm, like this happened every day but inside I was yelling for joy – my child was eating something green! I just got a tiny bit and popped it straight in his mouth. He chewed and then opened his mouth for more, so I gave him some! He only liked the very ends of it, not the stalk but I was happy to accommodate. He had quite a few mouthfuls and both Daniel and I were full of praise for him and we were just so grateful that he *asked* for it. He didn’t screw up his face either so I think he didn’t even mind the taste. He was actually with me when I bought it from the fruit and veg shop in the morning and I got him to help me pick it out and put it in the plastic bag, so maybe that’s why he took an interest in it. Whatever it was we’re just hoping he’ll want it again. We were having carrots too last night but he didn’t want any of those and we didn’t push it. We’re having a similar dinner tonight so fingers crossed he’ll be up for some more. We’ll let you know.
